AEO & GEO

Eight things we do, every month, to make ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini cite your business

When someone asks an AI assistant for a recommendation, only a handful of businesses get named. Here's how we make sure yours is one of them.

Foundation

Making your site readable to AI

Before AI assistants can cite your business, they have to be able to read your site. We make sure ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI crawlers can actually access, parse, and understand every page.

That means clean code under the hood, the right permissions for AI bots, baseline structured data, and an llms.txt file telling AI what's important. Without this, the rest doesn't matter.

Block 01

Writing for the questions people actually ask

People don't search AI assistants in keywords. They ask full questions: "what's the best web designer in Brooklyn for a restaurant", "how much does SEO cost in 2026". We write content around those real questions.

Every article gets a question as its headline, then answers it directly. That's the format AI looks for when it's deciding who to quote.

Block 02

The boxed answer AI lifts verbatim

At the top of every article, we put a Quick Answer: a tight two to three sentence summary that directly answers the question. This is the chunk AI pulls when it cites you.

Think of it as the soundbite. Write it well, and ChatGPT will read it back to its users word-for-word, with your business named as the source.

Block 03

Real humans, real credentials

AI assistants weigh who said something almost as much as what was said. We make every article look like (and actually be) the work of a real human expert with real experience.

Named bylines, photos, bios, contributor pages, and links to credentials. Google calls this E-E-A-T. AI assistants quietly do the same thing.

Block 04

Invisible labels AI reads first

Schema is structured data that tells AI exactly what each piece of content is. We add FAQ schema for question pages, HowTo for instructions, Speakable for voice, Article for posts.

AI assistants look for these labels first. They make it effortless for ChatGPT and Perplexity to find and cite your content without guessing.

Block 05

Publishing the numbers AI loves to quote

AI assistants are biased toward content that cites sources and includes hard numbers. We add proper citations to every claim, and we help you publish original data: surveys, before-and-after results, your own industry stats.

Original numbers from your business become quotable assets. Every time AI uses one, it names you as the source.

Block 06

The "vs" format AI loves to recommend

When someone asks ChatGPT "should I use X or Y", it almost always cites an "X vs Y" article. We create those side-by-side comparisons for your space.

Done right, your business becomes the recommended answer in dozens of comparison searches: "best web designer for restaurants in NYC", "Beacon Studio vs other agency", and so on.

Block 07

Getting talked about where AI reads

AI assistants pull from Reddit, Quora, forums, podcasts, news, and review sites just as much as they pull from Google. We work to get your business mentioned in those places, with or without a link back to you.

An unlinked mention on a Reddit thread can be worth more than a backlink, because it shows AI that real humans recommend you.

Block 08

Tracking who AI is mentioning, every week

We test prompts in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude every week to see whether your business comes up, what AI says about you, and which competitors are being recommended instead.

When the answer changes (AI starts mentioning a competitor instead of you, or stops mentioning anyone), we know that same week and adjust.
